No its not about McD's sumptuous burgers neither its about my rarest culinary expertise, its
about hunger. When a bit of sensitvity is allowed to intervene in our so called very occupied lives ,we realise that we are barely aware of what is really happening around us.
We have so very confined ourselves to grave issues that hunger today for the "materialistic man " is for his position, his wealth, his accomplishments..
How many times our plates have enough left overs?
How many times do we throw food just because it dint did enough work for the taste-buds?
Do we realise the fact that there are millions who dont have means to sufice their basic food requirements......
World Food Programme had warned in March of a worsenning global food crisis:
"We are seeing a new face of hunger..We are seeing food on the shelves ,but people being unable to afford it..."
Here's some food for thought:
* Every 1 in 5 people in World suffers from malnutrition.total count going to 800 million.
* 0.5 million people in india are malnutritioned.
*Malnutrition results in impairment of cognitive skills & physical strength.
*It makes u vulnerable to diseases.
*46% of Indian children are underweight
*80% anaemic.
Yes all this may seem really boring & unappealing but if for once in your life u have felt very hungry....understand the importance of the very first bite u had.
Relish the food that u are served not for its taste alone but also of the fact that u are lucky enough to have it.
The next time you waste food do remember "IN EVERY 2 SECONDS 1 DIES OF HUNGER".
(Nope I am not a social worker,i am just a human which alone is enough to define the purpose.I hope it makes sense to other humans as well)
